Scholarship Recipients





The Sarah & Elias Cruz Fly High Memorial Scholarship was created to honor two beautiful souls whose love, kindness, and passion for sports continue to inspire. Each year, we award student-athletes who lead with heart those who give their best on the field, in the classroom, and in their communities. This scholarship keeps Sarah and Elias’s spirit alive, reminding us all to dream big, play hard, and always Fly High.
Award Amount: $1000

Eligibility:
- A high school senior who will be attending college in the fall of 2026
- An athlete participating in high school
- A student who demonstrates the core values of character, sportsmanship, inclusivity, and perseverance both in and out of their athletic endeavors.
To apply for the Sarah and Elias Cruz Memorial Scholarship, eligible high school seniors please submit an essay (400-600 words) addressing the following:
1. Character & Sportsmanship: Share how you demonstrate impeccable character both on and off the field/court. Provide specific examples of moments when you showed integrity, leadership, and sportsmanship.
2. Team Mentality: Describe how you embody the qualities of the ultimate team player. How do you support and uplift your teammates, regardless of your personal performance?
3. Inclusivity & Encouragement: Sarah and Elias Cruz believed every player should feel valued and included. Explain how you foster a team environment where all players feel important and included.
4. Personal Growth & Future Goals: How have your experiences in baseball, softball, or volleyball shaped you as a person? How do you plan to carry these values forward in college and beyond?
